Review : Mabelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation

I had this for awhile now and really like using it so I thought, why not make a write-up about it. For a small bottle at Php349, it's not that cheap to buy without knowing if it'll suit your skin specially if its sensitive.

Product Says :
1) Water-based formula gives skin a light and fresh sensation.
2) Controls shine for an all day perfect and healthy-looking complexion.
3) Evens out skin tone and covers imperfections.
5) Feels soothing and cares for your skin with chamomile, aloe and Vitamin E.
6) 100% Oil Free.
7) Dermatologist tested.
8) Allergy tested.
9) Fragrance free.
10) Hypoallergenic.
11) Won't clog pores.

My Product Experience :

As you can see the packaging is quite simple and it has a nozzle dispenser. The bottle is sturdy so no need to worry about it squeezing the product out if your the kind who just toss things on your kit.

Unlike liquid foundation, it's less likely to be messy during application because the formulation is really thick. For the same reason, I thought it was gonna be difficult to work with but the product just blends smoothly with a sponge, brush and even with my fingers so I personally suggest to just use your hands (to minimize tools cleaning time 。◕‿◕。)

It doesn't feel so sticky either. Somehow, it feels like a thick, tinted moisturizer than a foundation. It also has a  dewey finish on me. I know it is water based and oil free and a lot of reviews say its matte so I think it's my oily face that makes it look a little dewey. Lasting period in my experience is about 4 hours if your on a non-airconditioned room. After that, your may want to touch up with powder.

The coverage is really light. It's good enough to even out your skin tone, hide redness and minimize pores but I would suggest you to make two layers for better coverage and use concealer for stubborn dark spots. This foundation has few range but if your skin is somewhere in the middle tone like me, the beige color would blend with your skin well.

Will I buy it again?
Yes. I had a bad experience with my first Maybelline product which is the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Very Cherry (click here for my product review) but this one did not irritate my skin at all (some product says hypoallergenic but still irritates my skin). I also like that it doesn't have the oily and sticky feeling and everytime you touch up your foundation, it'll be like applying moisturizer.

I've been using this product for years now. I love how one small bottle lasts for a long time. I agree with everything you said in this post: it's affordable but you get good bang for your buck!
