Nail Swatch : Caronia Italian Nude

The name is a little confusing. When I hear the word nude, I expect something like skin tones but this one is in no way close to any skin color. I don’t know exactly why they call it nude ‘cause it looks more like light violet to me. Maybe that’s why they put the word Italian before it (^^,).

Nail Swatch : Caronia Touch of Tan

I’ve been using the same color since I was in college. It’s the closest shade of nail polish to my skin tone so it's hardly noticeable. It looks more like nude than tan on my nails and I really like the clean look it gives on my hand. Somehow I feel like it brightens my skin tone. 

Reveiw : Eco Tools - Bamboo 6 Piece Eye Brush Set

As mentioned on my previous post, this is the first product I bought online ( My First Online Purchase ). Other than being affordable, I read some good reviews on this set. It's environment friendly too. You might think it's a bit much for it's original price since I got it for Php560 from Barat Mode but considering the shipping fee (which was free when I bought it ) I say it's fair enough. 

The plastic pack is thick and reusable and the entire package is light weight. Really suitable for travelling. 

The actual case is really simple though. There are no extra pockets or anything for other stuffs. Just something to hold the brushes with, which is really tight, and a rectangular mirror.

The mirror is really thin but I think it's unlikely to break. I can't quite put my finger on it but there's something different about the mirror other than being too thin. Somehow I feel like the reflection of the mirror is that of a wrapping foil only a lot clearer.

The brushes are like 4 1/2  inch long with the brand and name of brush engraved on its handle. The bristles are really soft and compact. I have no major complains about it. The angled crease brush may seem too big, but it's actually just perfect.

I've washed it three time and didn't shred one piece of hair. The brushes still look and feel the same as it was brand new.

I haven't purchase anything online before because I'm scared of getting scammed. Malls aren't that far either so I don't find any good reason to buy something online that would cost me almost the same amount if I get to find and alternative. I'm also not familiar with online payment and delivery methods before and that made me less confident. Then again, sometime alternatives just wont do so I took the risk and inquired for something I like and inexpensive. An amount that I won't regret spending when I get scammed.

Reveiw : CareLine Oil Control Foundation

The first that I noticed was the strong vanilla scent. I can smell it right after tearing the package. It took a while before it wore off a bit. 


The container is a thick, soft pressed tube with a small nozzle so it's less likely to dispose more than what you need during application. Although I cannot say the same if you would just toss it in your kit when you bring it with you.

Divisoria must be the first place to come to your mind when thinking about buying anything affordable in Manila. But honestly, its just too big and crowded for me to handle. So I went to Quiapo instead to look for make-up brushes. I found one for a really low price of P180 for 12 pieces with brush roll.

It's brandless but the quality is not that cheap at all. The bristles are soft and the handles are sturdy. I think these are the same brushes they use on small salons. Although I did loss a few strands with the powder and blush brush after combing it.

I got the idea from a Japanese beading magazine I was reading. It was intended to be a pendant of a full length necklace so I made a few adjustments to make sure it'll fit a bobby pin.

The same may also be used as a design piece for a bracelet or hairband.

Tutorial : Beaded Hair Cuff (Wire Wrap)

Finally, my hair twisting paid-off. I made hair cuffs with it. You can use the same technique in making earrings and bangles... :). 

For hair cuffs, the bigger your beads are, the better particularly if you have thick hair like mine. But for the demo, I used rice pearls. 

An Expensive Hobby

I've been wanting to learn how to make fine beaded accessories since I was a kid and three year ago, I learned how to... (^^,)... It was good but it wasn't any useful. I mean, my skills are improving, I'm learning to do more designs and techniques and I know a lot of people make money with it but I'm not one of them. I'm practically just spending... That's the ugly part... Then again, it makes me happy and I think that's the most I can get out of it... I like beads and by just looking at it makes me happy, just like my tag collection (^^,).

I don't really like people asking me to make some for them because it means deadlines and I don't like that when I'm doing my craft. I make some when I want to and only when I feel like it. So it turned out to be just a hobby and nothing more.

And since I'm getting addicted with YouTube since I had my vacation, I'm working on my channel, too. Not so pretty but I thinks it'll do for now...

Walk it!!!

I've nothing much to do lately but to sit, eat and sleep. I hardly move around the house even after I started walking. I'm gaining weight and the best excuse I could give was the operation. It's been 2 months now and that excuse is not going to work anymore besides, my fat is piling up. I can't jog, I can't do aerobics or anything that may stress my leg. Not like the doctors told me I can't do it but since I still have an open wound ( which is infected by the way ), I might as well  be more cautious.

I'm Back... and still on vacation...

I've been gone for awhile because of the operation... Well now I'm better... I'm walking without a cane... So happy... Although I get tired easily and really huge now... I ate almost nothing for 12 damn days in the hospital and yet I gained weight. Must be the dextrose. I'm trying to get back to shape but because of the holidays, it's been postponed until 2011. To date, nothing has changed with my weight.
